The good stuff is always worth the work it takes.
New project! Within 1-3 years, I am hoping to open a new business on my town's Main Ave. The business would consist of a bakery (bread, pastries, coffee), kitchen supply store (think Williams-Sonoma with local foods) and a commercial kitchen (available for rent). It will be a ton of work to get it going, but I am in it for the long run and very committed. I'll update the neglected blog occasionally with developments. In the meantime, feel free to check out my personal Pinterest page, event food Pinterest page, or event design Pinterest page for some inspiration.
Also, enjoy this cute photo of Jax.

Christmas Dog
Until I get a few project complete, here is a few cute (and naughty) pictures of our one year old dog, Jax:
Oh what a nice dog in front of the Christmas tree!:
Wait, what is that?:
Less then 12 hours after putting the tree up, Jax destroyed three ornaments and multiple branches of holly. Within one week, eight ornaments were chewed up, including a glass one. At least he is sorry about it.:
I would be mad at him, but he is so darn cute!:
And really like the snow!:
What a cutie!:

*In case you were nervous, Jax was fine after chewing up the glass ornament. The Christmas tree now gets sprayed with smelly dog deterrent everyday to keep him away from the festive snack. :)

New House and Dog!
Hello blogging community!
I have not abandoned the blog, though it may appear I have... We just moved into our new house and got a handsome new dog, so I am a bit distracted by all the excitement going on. Good thing for all of you, there will be many upcoming home improvement posts. I will update you all as we go along. This will be fun!

Our First Pepper
Great news everyone!
Our mini garden is actually growing edible food! We had a beautiful green pepper that survived this horribly hot weather.
Mike volunteered to make pad thai for supper, a great way to use the pepper. The dish didn't turn out very well, but I was so excited to use our first produce. More is on the way, too! We have green peppers, tomatoes, and basil, along with a few marigolds for decoration.
Stop back at My Neighbor's House later this week for another update.

Our little garden hangs out behind our town home on our slab of concrete, right by the wheat field (more on that later). The metal pot holder was a bridal shower gift from my mom. We originally had it in the front of the house, but the wind is much stronger there and ripped our poor plants to shreds on the first day. The back of the house is a much calmer place and allows the plants to get a little more sun. Our creepy, dirty neighbor smokes in his underwear on the back patio, so it is often awkward when watering the pots and makes my gardening experience a little less enjoyable... Anyway, for something so basic, I'm pretty pleased with what we are able to grow.
Stop back at My Neighbor's House later this week for another update.
